PYD/YPG Militants Launch Attack on Syrian Army Forces in Deir ez-Zor with US Support
Early in the morning, PKK/YPG militants initiated an attack on Syrian army forces and Iran-backed groups in the villages of Murrat, Haşşam, Mazlum, Tabiyye, Hüseyiniyye, Salihiyye, and Hatla, located in Deir ez-Zor, Syria, with the support of the United States. The militants launched attacks from three different directions on these neighboring villages, and clashes are reported to be ongoing.
It is known that in the region starting from the city center of Deir ez-Zor to the El-Bukamal district near the Syria-Iraq border, Iran-backed groups have a strong presence. Almost all of the Deir ez-Zor lands east of the Euphrates River are under the occupation of the US-backed terrorist organization PKK/YPG, while the provincial center and other rural areas are controlled by the Syrian army and Iran-backed groups.
US Provides Air Support to YPG
While the terrorist group YPG initiated an attack against the Syrian army, it is alleged that the US provided air support to the YPG. Footage from the region shows warplanes conducting airstrikes on the mentioned villages to support the YPG.
